Part-time Vacancy: Grant Requests Clerk

Join The Polehampton Charity and make a real difference locally

Are you passionate about supporting your community? Our village Charity is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to join us as a Grant Requests Clerk. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to grant enquiries and applications from local residents, community groups and schools, ensuring a helpful and compassionate service at every stage.

 

We are offering an hourly rate of £15.50 for between 30 and 40 hours a month.

Main responsibilities:

​

  • Assess and respond to grant requests submitted by local residents, community groups and schools in a timely and professional manner.

  • Communicate clearly with applicants, providing guidance and updates on their applications.

  • Maintain accurate records of applications, decisions, and correspondence.

  • Work closely with The Polehampton Charity’s trustees to review and process grant applications according to established criteria.

  • Attend and present a report on grant applications to the quarterly trustee meetings.

  • Cover the clerk’s duties when the clerk is not available.

 

Person specification:

​

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Experience in an administrative or customer service role is desirable.

  • A genuine interest in community development and charitable work.

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft 365 or similar.

 

This is a part-time, self-employed position, based at home, and ideally suited to someone living locally. Flexible hours are available.
